From my observations, the strict tardy policy seems to be 'working.' (That is the hard core truant students are making repeat appearances in the Social Room, many of the borderline students are now getting to class on time, and the rest of you have been largely unaffected.
As representatives of the "rest of you" do you agree - have you been basically unaffected? Or have some of you been 15 - 40 seconds late and then had to sit in the social room all hour. If so, what did it look like down there?

ReplyDeleteIt hasn't effected me because I've been trying very hard not to be late (and i'm not normally late). Now I don't have time to go to my locker or use the bathroom until lunch.

I haven't been affected by the tardy policy, all I get is a few extra poinnts, so that is the only way it has affected me.

ReplyDeleteOn the first day they started this policy i was sent down to the social room. That day was super packed. On the second day i was sent down there again,but there were alot less people than the first day. But after them first two days of the policy it really hasnt affected me -Ernest Beasley

i think it is working now because every body is going on time into the classes also no body can enter the class if he/she is late but as i said before if the student want it will work!!

I have for the most part been unaffected by the tardy policy but my boy friend like to walk me to every class and then he is tardy so I have been trying to get him to leave early so we both don't have to go through a lunch detention. We have been doing very good at not being tardy.-Jessica Z.
ReplyDeleteI havent been affected BUT i came to school late yesterdday because of a doctors app. and they "tried" to send me to the social room. Which doesnt make any sense to me. They should write people a pass and send them to class.

I have been unaffected by the tardy policy, yet I still see people roaming the halls. Either people are finding some great hiding spots, or they're just leaving from the social room, which defeats the whole purpose of them being sent there in the first place.

The new tardy policy has affected me in the morning. Its usually a problem for me to get to school on time. Most times im walking in the school doors a minute late. Lucky for me my teacher has been kind enough to let me in.
