Are you like me and do you surf a major news site often during the day to stay up on the news? Did you notice that Yahoo now posts national news stories and local news stories on the front page?

Take a minute and visit a news site (like CNN.com or Yahoo or even LSJ.com) and find one article that interests you. Write why the article captured your interest.

This meant the deaths of many and seperation of families possible permanently. The thought that this type of thing can happen to anyone including me scares me almost as much as there never being a cure for Diabetes....sucks

  10. Beyond Prop 8: Same-sex couples and their struggles to marry.
This interested me because it applies and will affect me in the future. It also was interesting because it says this, "The case likely will reach the U.S. Supreme Court and may culminate in a landmark decision -- some have dubbed it this generation's Brown v. Board of Education or Roe v. Wade."
I thought that was a very nice comparison and maybe one day we can all live together and everyone can have the same rights.

    -LSJ.com
I think that this is so silly! I dont care how noise-blocking your headphones are- when a train is coming from behind, you can hear the whistle! Or, you can at least feel the vibrations on the tracks.

  33. One of the news articles that i found very interesting, other than the main story on Haiti, is the story of the little boy who got suspended for his hair being a little longer than his neck. I feel really sorry for him and his family, but the school has allowed him to attend, with "certain restrictions".

  37. Some 4 year old got suspended because his hair was too long for school. That's just a little extreme, especially for such a young kid over an unimportant issue. Seems like that school district cares more about apperance than education.
