Last night at the joint PTSA/SIT meeting we finalized plans for the MME days next week. Our goal can be simply stated: Every Junior, each day, testing to the best of his/her abilities! Our main strategy is simple as well -we'll give each student who tests all three days a "Golden Ticket" at the end of the test on Thursday. Students with Golden Tickets will be allowed entrance into the MME "after party" sponsored by our PTSA and hosted by our NHS. The after party will last from 10:15 am on Thursday until the end of the school day.
So that leads to the question of the day: If you were/are a Junior, will this motivate you to attend all three days, in rain or shine, in sickness and in health?
My Favorite Post from Monday ... Why? Because I'm from Rochester, NY! (also - much love to everyone who is planning on studying computers/video in the future):

NO this doesn't motivate me at all to go, just because some lame party is being held doesnt mean i wanna go sit through testing for 3 days
ReplyDelete- Jaylen Fuentes
This will motivate me to come all three days because that means one day without all of my classes.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a junior I wouldn't need any motivation because I would go anyway, so that I can graduate. ~~Morgan McCoy
ReplyDeleteit is better motivation then they have given before, but if they really want to get students to go they should just let us go home after the 4 hours of testing everyday
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a good compromise that allows students to have a day of fun after taking a long, boring test.
ReplyDeleteIf i were a Junior the promise of a party would not spur me in any way because I very much dislike loud, noisy places. What would motivate me is the thought that if I did not take the test, I would fail. That is what motivates me--failure, the bane of my existence.
ReplyDeleteIf they want incentive they should let us go home after the testing-William Hundt
ReplyDeleteI would go anyway, to pass and because its free. I suppose a party would motivate me, but it would motivate me more if i didn't have any classes that week.
ReplyDelete-Melissa Scenga
I would go becauseits free.
ReplyDelete-Grant Swix
um, probably not. i mean we have to go anyways. why torture us more with a lame party afterwards? we just want to go home and sleep. give us what we want!
ReplyDelete-Alayna Bailey
It's a better offer then what they usually offer but I rather go home and sleep then hang my exhuasted time here. I would go to the MME anyways because its REQUIRED. I rather graduate then skip it. Of course I'll be at the party though... nothing else around here.-Nate C.
ReplyDeleteYea, I planed on going anyway so if I get out of class for going then sure.... why not go.
ReplyDeleteYea, I planed on going anyway so if im going to get out of my classes for going to the test.... why not go.
ReplyDeleteIncentive? What is this? Are you saying it ISN'T required? Do we really need to be bribed? Anyway, to the students who say 'let us go home'... it won't happen that way so please try and give other ideas. I think an after test party would be more than enough to oblige for taking a long test that no one is looking forward to. (To teachers...) I recommend that the week of the tests you all should take it easy on the Juniors. And I mean little to no homework. I believe this is reasonable because most of us are going to be tired of working and would much rather take it easy. That would be good enough incentive for me.
ReplyDeleteYes, even though i plan to show up all three days anyway! This would just be extra nice suprise!

Depends what they got at this after party, I dont play that cookies and punch stuff. Maybe a lil disco ball action and potato skins XD
ReplyDeleteWhen im a junior next year; i wouldnt need the motivation to be there id be there anyways. but as for others i believe this is enough to motive kids to go take the test all three days.
ReplyDelete-seren miller
Maybe it will motivare me but it depends on what is at the "after party". If there is food then im there.
ReplyDeleteIm sorry but it doesnt motivate me at all.
ReplyDeleteIts a great thing to have as a reward dont get me wrong but lets face it, none of us want to sit in a chair for several hr a day taking a test for 3days.
- Karla G.C. 3rd
Regardless of any perks, I would attend all three days anyways. Some students don't need to be bribed into working toward their (successful) feature.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious as to whether or not the other Michigan schools needed "after parties."

If i was a junior it would motivate me to go all three days so that i could have the option of going to the party with my friends.
ReplyDelete-Annaleana Green 3rd Hour
I'd go anyway because its mandatory to graduate. Only failure dropouts wouldn't go.
ReplyDeleteNEGATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!q!!q!
ReplyDeleteLast year when I was a junior, the fact that the MME was a graduation requirement was enough motivation for me, not some fancy partyy. I think that it is a good idea though for the juniors because students this year don't seem to care as much about graduating on time.
ReplyDeleteWell I am assisting with the party as part of NHS volunteer hours:-) But I really wasn't motivated last year but I came and did my best anyways because in the long run it will be beneficial for me.
ReplyDelete- Yeah i would. an i am cause i gotta take the test and i'ma be in that boy everyday!
ReplyDeletei believe it will motivate students to attend all three days. But if they were sick i doubt they would come to school to take the test an get everyone else sick in the process
ReplyDeletei'll go because i wnat to graduate !!!!=]
ReplyDeleteWell i was a junior it would. but there would have to be some nice bribes or things to persuade me.lol you usually dont hear a party and test in the same sentence. But otherwise I would totally attend the MME to get into the after party.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i would like to take the test if i knew that there was somthing cool coming out of it.
ReplyDeleteit will motivate me to go because a day without classes and just to relax sound AWESOME
ReplyDelete-Victoria Fields
Yes, even though i plan to show up all three days anyway! This would just be extra nice suprise!

ReplyDeleteMy Flum Rocks=]
If i were a junior i would still attend sick or not. Cause without the MME you cant graduate and im not trying to just fail like that..
ReplyDeletewell i dont have to go to school on that day, i can have my own party, if i waz a junior though i think its a good idea to keep students motivated
ReplyDeleteIf they want incentive they should let us go home after the testing-
ReplyDeleteRay Graham
no but i dont know why u wont go u cant graduate unless u do
ReplyDeleteIf i were a junior i would still attend sick or not.
ReplyDeleteumm im taking the mme, and now, i will show up for ALL 3 days. AWESOME. LOL IDK. (:
ReplyDelete-HOLLY JO FOSHO(HENDY)-
I guess it would motivate me if i had to take the test, but since i don't i really don't care. I think its not fair that we didn't get all these advantages last year. Even though I could get NHS hours so thats a plus.
ReplyDeleteDannyel Forman <3
If I were a junior I will take the MME all three days
ReplyDeleteyea probably if I knew the party wasnt going to be lame!!
ReplyDeleteNo it doesnt motivate me because most likely it wont be that fun anyways...
ReplyDelete-Brittany Dyer
i think it sucks that they did not have it when i was a junior
ReplyDeletei will definantly attend because i want my party food & not sit in class for the rest of the day.
ReplyDeletei will attend all 3 days just to get my pizza
ReplyDelete-Zach VanAmber
i don't care unless i help out with the party to get the pizza.
ReplyDelete-Sean Riley
it doesn't really matter to me because i don't need to take the test this year.
