i dont think the earth is striking back i think were doing this to ourselves because were so caught up and worried about the luxurys that make us feel good but dont look at what it does to the people around us. like when you drive a car that emits alot of exahst the people behind you get mouths full of gas and it coats there lungs and that makes them sicker. same thing with cigerretes, poluting the ocean adn messing with the balance so it throws up tital waves and stuff along with the forest fires
It's not science fiction, but the Earth isn't a mass with a brain, either. It's not plotting revenge against us for any reason, it's just showing us the effect of our actions. Just like a virus, we humans spread across the Earth occupying space and using it's resources (both renewable and not) to satisfy ourselves. Sure, some people say we're "surviving," but that's so not true. We don't need all those tv's and rv's and atv's to live. Those are unecessary luxuries that are destroying where we live.
Maybe it's striking back to fix it's self to be in a correct position like a few decades ago.
