Have you been following the big wikileak's story this week? (Releasing thousands of secret US diplomatic reports / messages). Do you know what Wikileaks is?
Check out this link to find out a little more about wikileaks ...
Check out this link for a lot more info about the current massive leak that is being shared with the world.
The US and other world governments are outraged and are highly motivated to stop wikileaks from releasing these secret memos. On the other hand, shouldn't the dealings of government agencies that are bankrolled by us, the people, be transparent to us, the people?
Where do you stand on this?

Yeah, it should be transparent to us just like most things are. i don`t think governments slips should be handled by themselves and they shouldn`t try to involve us. I mean, they ARE the government and they ARE supposed to do their stuff with or without us.
ReplyDeleteHEY :)
ReplyDeleteWikileaks is a wake up call...
Exposing many lies and corruption.
I honestly believe that citizens...
Should know about all this information...
That the Government is hiding.
There is no need to hide all this from us...
Unless there is something WRONG going on!
i feel that the citizens of the country should be aware of the secrets and messages of the gov't that we are under. we are part of the gov't by being citizens and they represent us and we should know about what goes on..

I think that it is wrong that Wikileaks is putting out information without prior consent, but I also agree that there would be no reason for something to be top secret unless it's something wrong that is going on. I believe that we, as the people of a democratic country, should have a vote as to whether Wikileaks should be able to continue what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteSome of these documents are bound to be helpful, and some of the others will probably be grim, but I think that it would be good to know the truth in the end.
i think that what wikileaks is doing is right because you guys see the side that the usa army tells you. but you guys dont really see whats going on. Wake up and open your eyes.
ReplyDeleteI think Wikileaks is a HUGE smack in the face to the people. to know that the government is hiding things from us is just wrong. there would be no govenment or a need for one if there weren't "the people" so they should tell us whats going on in this world. cuz were all living in it not just them.....
ReplyDeletepersonally, I think if the government doesnt want the info. to leak, then they should keep it underwraps better

it's been the govt's thing to keep things from us. i don't really care about the whole wikileaks thing
ReplyDeletei think that these are good...we have a right to know whats going on!
ReplyDeleteI understand the need for secrecy, but I also understand that we can't have our government doing nasty things behind our backs. I think that the founder needs to exercise some discression especially when revealing something
ReplyDeletesensative or dangerous. Though I believe that he should publish everything he gets about companies, I hope that he can be sensative when dealing with information about governments and countries. We really don't need an international incident over a state department memo.
i think... secrest don't make friends ! =]
ReplyDelete*secrets .
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand why the government doesn't have a tighter leash on this site. But yes it should be transparent to the people...to us.

ReplyDeleteI believe that it should be this way, the government should let the people know what is going on and not keeping it a secret.
