LEQ Rewards Project - What Do You Think?

Students, staff and parents:

Share your thoughts on the LEQ Rewards project. Do you think it is working? Are more staff focusing on positive behavior and are more students acting positively?

If you've received a Reward, what did you do to get it?

Any suggestions for changes for next year?

  1. i received an award for doing nothing! ( i wish that could be true ) but enough of that,
now for some changes! ( not by tupac :)

suggestions i have is that, all the students who received an award should have their name on the ticket, and everyone who received one, will have a pizza party, instead of the whole student class.. -.-

you could be the worst student ever, and if your class wins the pizza party, you get pizza for being bad cause your peer's did all the work :D

this should play into effect, and should be held like once a month????????

  2. Great idea about expanding to tracking Rewards by each individual student .. we are looking at doing just that next year - you all would enter your ID on the web page when you redeemed your Reward so we could keep track of who has earned them

  3. we should score this on percentage and not on actual amount as another student has brought up. And I feel the school wants the freshman to win so they just give them rewards

  4. I think that its a good idea, i recieved an reward for helping someone, it's a motivation to be a better student

  5. bribe then with fake money, and at the end of the month they'll turn it in for a prize!!

prizes could be coupons for a free pizza, $$$, cheap ipod's, mp3, pencils, paper, X-tra credit!!!!!!! etc.

  7. hmmm...

Im not really sure if this is working that well. Students dont seem to really be changing their behavior...

really its a running joke in my 1st hour-- today one was given out to sarcastically emphasize their "helpfullness"

    yup so not so impressed

hey check out my website on bluecube i will be updating it soon; be prepared for a cool newe feel :D

  8. I kind of think it's working, but then I don't. I still see people acting like idiots in the halls, crowding in piles, not picking up trash at lunch or being responsible in class. It's working by giving us a reason to be good, though maybe we should do a bonus round the week of the last day of the rewards. Like attendence, dress code or something.
I recieved a reward, well my class did, for everyone being there in my advanced compostition class.
Next year I think they should do a random bonus round during the spirit week becasue thats when everyone is going for it.

  13. Ms. P. Smith gave me her first reward. Normally I sleep through her class, but when I finally woke up I was the only one who could answer her question. She said it was for "Paying attention in class." Lol. I haven't gotten any since...

  14. I think it's a good, clean way to get everyone motivated to do better and school and its a great war between grades.... that's always fun to have.

  15. I got a rewards thing for doing man work carrying out a vacum cleaner to a car. hahaha. but this thig is kinda dumb because some teachers give them out for no reason

  16. i think its going bad because teachers are jst giving them to freshmen n they arnt even doing anything thats what i jst think and they are going to michigan adventures and the seniors they are matur but they have a chance to win a car and their prom is geting paid for fully so idk thats jst what i think sophomores all day

  18. This does seem like a good thing but I have not seen anyone receive a LEQ award in any of my classes. I don’t know if all the teachers are participating in this. Next year it should be more reasonable. There are a lot of freshman and not a lot of seniors or juniors. It should be a percentage of the class that received the reward not just how many one class receives.

  19. SUGGESTIONS...? :)

I Think There Should Be Individual Rewards...
There Are Students Who May Be Terrible...
& Are Going To Recieve The Pizza Party For Others' Good Behavior...

I Know For A Fact That Not All Teachers Are Giving Out Rewards...
There Should Be A Weekly Check Up On Teachers...
To See If Their Rewards Were Given Out...

I Do Not Think There Should Be One Winner...
There Should Be Rewards For All Classes...
The Highest Score Gets The Best Prize & So On...

If All Classes Are Promised A Suprise @ The End...
Then The Class With The The Lowest Number Of Rewards Will Not Give Up...

We Should Try To Reward EVERY CLASS...
    4 Their Outstanding Work :)

  22. i thank that it was a good ideal because it makes some people go to class that don't like about it is that they don't have no ones names on them i under stand that people can get the rewords for being on time and every thing but why not give the best class some for who has the best grade point average i thank that would be better because you will no who is doing great in school.the only reason that i thank that people should use there names on them is so that it will make them feel more happy because there name is on that little piece of paper .

  23. I like the idea of motivating students but this system is just totally unfair. There are more Freshmen than any other class so it makes sense how they get more of the slips of paper. And there are less seniors than any other class so it makes sense that seniors would have the less tardies. AND there are teachers who definitely play favorites (either for the Freshmen or Seniors most likely) so they reward them accordingly. There is going to be unfair advantages in whatever we try to do. But if anything, I would go with the percentage of the class that received an award instead of individuals. By doing that, it makes other people motivate other students instead of keeping to themselves. ALSO by bribing kids to go to class with mints does not help at all. I don't know of one person who has said "OMG guys lets get to class to get a mint!". it's really lame and it's wasting the school's money on something we really don't NEED. At least this pizza party is getting some people caring...

  24. I think this whole thing was retarded cause the freshmen should have been disqualified for cheating (FRESHMEN SUCK). But i like the idea about the individual thing though cause i earned like 10 or 15 of those rewards for my class.

  25. My daughter was rewarded for taking the time and effort to escort some 8th graders around. She missed some of her classes and lunch in order to help new students. I am proud of her and happy that Mr. Jason recognized her for going above and beyond. She would have done it anyway but it is nice to be recognized!

  26. students who don't need the extra help with classes should be able to be exempt from advisory.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think its a good idea because it motivates students to be better students.

  28. Personally i don't think the LEQ rewards idea really helped. Some teachers gave them out more than others and i think freshmen were given more to inspire them to do better.
