Thursday - Hallway Situation and Tardies

One of our teachers emailed out to staff today his observation that the hallways seem to be getting pretty bad already this year. There seem to be many students who are simply refusing to go to class on time ... especially at the end of the day. Have you noticed this? Do you have any suggestions for getting the truant students to class on time?

Friday .. day after our first 1/2 day

One down, 16 to go. I'm talking about half days - we still have 16 more of them! So what did you do during yesterday's half day? Do you have a goal for how you want to spend the next 16 half days?

Tuesday, 9-11

So today is the infamous 9-11 day. For many adults, 9-11 doesn't seem that long ago, but for many of you I'm guessing you may hardly remember it. Tuesday - First Day of School!

Summer Vacation 2012 ... It's over! Welcome to a new year. What was a small, simple pleasure that you enjoyed during the summer? (For me, one was the simple act of going to sleep each night without worrying about setting an alarm. And then waking up each morning after the sun had risen. Another simple pleasure was walking my dog around the quiet neighborhood in the middle of the day when the rest of the drones were off at work.)

Thursday - What period for Advisory?

Some teachers are getting together after school today to talk about what period we should have Advisory next year. For many of us, first hour seems like the best place for Advisory, in a perfect world. But since our world is not yet perfect, many are afraid that first hour Advisory will encourage even more tardiness / truancy then we suffer currently.

2/13 - Loong Weekend Coming UP!

In case you didn't know, now you do - we have a 10:40 am dismissal day on Thursday (can't even call that a half day ... more like a third day), and no school on Friday. Oh, and btw, no school on Monday! Very nice [Borat voice].
