Tuesday - Westboro Baptist Visit

How do you think we should react to the planned protest next week by the Westboro Church?

  1. Whatever we do, we should not respond. They're coming here to get a reaction from us, if we ignore them and don't give them any reaction, we'll be fine. They have their right to a peaceful protest, but it we get involved it'll turn into a riot.

  3. they are truly looking for attention, one thing i know from being a christian is that this matter should be handled differently. they should be using the media that follows them and tell the world about jesus christ.

  8. I think we should ignore them. the thing that bothers people like them the omost is not getting a raise out of the people they are targeting.
I think if we do ANYTHING we should all stand silently outside TOGETHER.

  11. We shouldn't waste our energy in hating others. We're only hurting ourselves if we do that.Rather,we should just accept others for who they are. It's just saddening how they trade a lie for the truth for the real image of God :'(

I don't really understand what it is these people want... I'm not exactly a man of faith, but it seems like common sense that preaching extremist doctrine against pretty much everyone results in people hating you. Is there anyone these people like? I understand that we all possess the right to protest and we are lucky enough to live in a country that allows us freedom of speech but to see people hide behind that freedom as a shield so that they can freely spew their hate is a disgrace. There is no arguing with these people, they refuse to listen to reason for even a moment and that is something that terrifies me, people who are so sure that what they believe is right that they are willing to excuse any action as justifiable.
